Description

George III Crown 1819/8 MS61 NGC, KM675, S-3787, ESC-2012 (R3). LIX edge. Scarce to say the least and seldom-seen crossing the auction block in recent years, with only a small handful of instances seen in the last two decades. Certainly one of the most advanced specimens of this rare overdate, both in technical certification as well as eye appeal, dressed in an admirable cabinet tone from placement in advanced cabinets for decades, the reverse facing up especially fine and semi-Prooflike with ample reflectivity to steely legends and field, peppered with light iridescent tone.

Ex. John J. Pittman (David Akers August 1999, Lot 3859); L.S. Forrer Price List (January 1950, No. 1679)
