George III gold Proof 1/2 Guinea 1787 PR64 NGC, KM608, S-3735, W&R-130 (R). Plain edge. By Lewis Pingo. A specimen that stands very near to the peak of certified quality awarded for the type (only 3 PR65's of any cameo finish certified by NGC), and one which seems to boast of Pingo's simplistic, yet instantly iconic engraving. Minted with a slightly beveled edge and no rims to keep in the piece's resplendent finish, the mirroring of the surfaces seems to flow uninterrupted from one face to the other, existing in start contrast to the reliefs and showing heavily polished dies. The first representative we have handled in just over 5 years, and a clear target for even the most discerning collector.
