George III gold "Royal Academy of Arts Prize" Medal 1768 UNC Details (Damage) PCGS, BHM-132, Eimer-723. 54mm. 100.82gm. By T. Pingo. Unawarded. A charming Medal of significant gold weight; quite lustrous but the rim/edge knock was significant enough to warrant a Details designation.

The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) is an art institution based in Burlington House in Piccadilly in London. Founded in 1768 under the patronage of King George III, it has a unique position as an independent, privately funded institution led by eminent artists and architects. Its purpose is to promote the creation, enjoyment and appreciation of the fine arts through exhibition, education and debate.
