Description

George III gold Sovereign 1817 MS63 PCGS, KM674, S-3785, Marsh-1. An important and conditionally scarce date in the series, serving as both the first of George III's Sovereign coinage and the first year for the long-running denomination as a whole. The present example is choice through and through, with glowing and highly satiny luster that leaps about the legends in dramatic fashion, serving as a fitting visual frame for sharp designs that appear free of any distracting marks. Considerably appealing, even for the assigned grade, and a fitting addition to any high-end cabinet of British Sovereigns.
