Description

George III Shilling 1787, S3744, no hearts, no stop over head, rarer variety, MS63 PCGS, Choice UNC, bold strike for issue (of fairly shallow engraving style), wonderful surfaces that are fully original, the toning a delicate silvery white and grayish green pastel blend, likely not given a higher numerical grade simply because of the mint-made adjustments through the portrait, but they are light and unobtrusive. A beautiful example of this classic! A finer provenance could not be imagined. Ex: Slaney Collection, sold in London by Spink, May 2003, Lot 215.
