Description

George III silver Proof Pattern Crown ND (1820) PR61 NGC, KM-PnB80, ESC-2055 (Previously ESC-221). Plain edge. By Thomas Webb and George Mills for Mudie. A striking Pattern from the very end of George III's reign, as he died January 29th of that very year. Displaying one of the most empathetic and delicately crafted portraits of the king, rich chocolate tones give way to deep indigo; flashes of amber create a dramatic outline of the king, while in the reflective expanses of the reverse pool hues of lemon and cobalt.
