Description

George IV Third-Farthing 1827, S3827, MS66 BN NGC, a one-year type intended commercially for tax revenues on the island of Malta, thus seldom seen in outstanding condition such as this magnifiCent gem specimen. The Laureate portrait is neoclassical in style and wondrously rendered here, where Superb quality is attained by a combination of sharp strike, immaculate surfaces, gleaming luster, and vivid electric-blue iridescence atop the gleaming brown toning of the luster. Clashed dies show ghosts of each design on the opposing side, mainly visible in the fields. A jewel of a coin!
