Stunning and Scarce Final Date Trade Dollar
George V Trade Dollar 1935-B MS62 PCGS, Bombay mint, KM-T5,
Prid-30. One of the true keys of this incredibly collectible
series, and a typically elusive date/mint combination outside of
our auctions, with only nine receiving straight-grades between both
grading services. Of a reported mintage nearing 7 million, the vast
majority were melted down - likely a direct consequence of the 1935
Currency Ordinance in Hong Kong, which introduced a local monetary
system and rendered foreign trade coinage obsolete. A stark
contrast from the previous Peh specimen we handled, coincidentally
also an MS62 yet blast white, lacking much of the visual qualities
that elevate the current specimen via attractive cabinet tone. With
only two examples ranking finer, we expect ample competition when
