Description

George VI C-N Proof Florin 1947, S4102, 2nd Coinage, very rare Proof of Record, PR64 Cameo NGC, a superb piece, nearly perfect, with reflective mirror surfaces. The obverse field has slight dulling from faint oxidation. The apparent "marks" on the king's portrait are none of them abrasions but, in reality, are transfers from the die, which was not fully lapped to produce a flawless cameo. This was created less than two years after World War II ended, and is an amazing accomplishment, considering the state of London in 1947. A very desirable specimen indeed!

Metal: Copper-Nickel
Diameter: 28.30mm
