Description
A Majestic Half Noble of Henry V
Henry V (1413-22) gold Half Noble ND, S-1749, North-1377 Later without mullet (extremely rare), not in Schneider, Pierced Cross mm, Class C with quatrefoil above sail and broken annulet on ship's side and another to left of first crown on reverse, ship with 5 ropes, MS63 NGC, a stunning example of this rarity: lustrous, boldly struck on each side, the king's face and shield crisp, on reverse the cruciform cross crisp at center including the king's initial, Cross mm and legends outstanding, flan nearly round with only a tiny crack at 7 o'clock obverse, some ancient scuffs on each side toned over by the beautiful yellow-gold color. In all, one of the finest known survivors of this historic coinage -- and a truly rare hammered gold coin in this condition.More information about Great Britain Coins.
