Description

Late Anglo-Saxon coinage, Cnut (1016-1035), Pointed Helmet Penny, S1158, moneyer and mint names badly blundered but probably struck at York, Choice VF, flan round and without cracks, essentially full outer beading for the rims, pleasing portrait, slight softness of detail in some of the legends, light gray toning, hint of gold iridescence. Very desirable and worthy of some study!
