Description

Victoria bronze Moore pattern Penny 1860, P2101, bronzed, MS64 BN NGC, gorgeous color, looks like a Hersheys chocolate bar! The maker's initials, J.M. for Joseph Moore of Birmingham, are very distinct just by the groundline to the left of Britannia's foot on reverse. Called MS but these were all struck as proofs, never intended for circulation or commercial use, and none ever did enter circulation. The rounded rims must be the reason for the MS designation. This is a very choice Proof, about as nice as they come.
