Description

Victoria Farthing 1838, S3950, Young Head, MS64 RB NGC, a jewel of a farthing that possesses nearly full original mint red luster, light brown oxidation only, thus exceptional for color, also well struck with great detail in the queen's portrait as well as on Britannia (notice how every tiny toe shows on her foot!), surfaces pretty close to immaculate, light die clashing. Victoria's copper farthings are quite scarce as a class of coinage. Mostly in England if you look long and hard you run into coins that are almost new, coins abraded with normal marks, coins with carbon spotting. Pristine specimens such as this one are quite rare and difficult to find.
