Description
Victoria Farthing 1840, S3950, Young Head, MS63 BN PCGS, Very Choice UNC, sharply struck with a lovely portrait, crisp legends, and Britannia showing full definition in her tiny foot on reverse, glossy medium chocolate brown surfaces with only a few tiny abrasions, faint die breaks here and there. Scarce grade for a very early date in this challenging series, mostly seen in AU or lesser grades throughout the UK market. Deserves a higher number grade, in the cataloguer's opinion. From the Exeter College Collection
Metal: Copper
Mintage: 3,011,000
