Superb Gem Jubilee 5 Pounds
Victoria gold Proof 5 Pounds 1887 PR65+ Deep Cameo PCGS,
KM769, S-3864, W&R-285. Mintage: 797. Variety with B.P.
initials on reverse. The largest denomination of Victoria's 1887
'Golden Jubilee' Proof set, this admirable 5 Pounds presents an
overall fineness of execution that is exceptional even for a
tailor-made Proof coin, the mirrored fields reservoirs of glassy
golden flash omitting all but the most inconsequential wisps.
Revealing even die polish lines on the reverse under close
examination, a surprisingly rare feature for the issue, such an
example certainly ranks amongst the finest attainable, with the
last we have offered (certified PR65 Ultra Cameo by NGC) achieving
