Rare Una & the Lion Five Pounds

Victoria gold Proof Una & the Lion £5 1839, Young Head, S-3851, WR-278 (R4), KM742, 38.08 g, DIRIGE legend, medal-rotation die alignment, Tertio raised lettered edge with rose stops, two ornamented fillet bands (the upper one with 11 complete leaves), uncertified, Brilliant Proof, splendid frosted portrait and lion motif, deeply mirrored orange-peel surfaces showing numerous swirling heavy hairlines around the portrait and light hairlines across the reverse. Some tiny contact marks also appear in the reverse field, and a few on the rims. Nevertheless, most of the world's collectors have never seen this rarity, and legions of British collectors would be thrilled to own this very coin.
