Description
Victoria Halfcrown 1882, S3889, Young Head, MS64 PCGS, Gem UNC, the numerical grade assigned confusing as this coin has a marvelous look, only faint stray marks, wonderful satiny luster, bold strike with full details on the often-weak shield, and delicate silvery luster with golden hues. As well, the planchet or flan is superior, perfectly made, as is the engraving style on this piece, from a period known as the "wretched flan" era in Victoriana. This coin should be in an MS65 holder and may be the nicest 1882 you will ever find. From the Guilford Courthouse Collection.
