DescriptionVictoria pattern Sixpence 1887, by J.R. Thomas for Spink & Son, ESC-1783, silver, reeded edge, PR63 NGC, lovely old-cabinet toning, super-bold in strike, and seemingly finer than the numerical grade indicates. The cataloguer has owned or described for auction every variety of this style of pattern, and cannot recall seeing a more pleasing example struck in silver. Very rare.
