Description
Victoria Proof Crown 1839, Young Head, S3882, plain edge, PR63 PCGS, a handsome and choice example taken from a coronation proof set of this year, this specimen retaining its reflectivity in the mirrored fields, and shimmering in medium colored russet gold and greenish gray iridescent toning. Small spot of verdigris below the queen's chin. An interesting and most unusual feature of this attractive coin is that it was struck the second or perhaps a third time in the proofing press out of register, causing the design to shift about 3mm, which appears on each side as a ghost. Rare, and always keenly sought as a crown of dramatic appearance.Metal: Silver
Diameter: 38.61mm
Weight: 28.276g
ASW: 0.8409oz
