Victoria Proof "Gothic" Crown 1847 PR64 NGC, KM744, S-3883,
ESC-2571. UN DECIMO on edge. A joint numismatic effort between the
venerated engraver William Wyon and Queen Victoria herself that has
come to enjoy unparalleled glorification in recent years. Unlike
most cabinet "Gothic" Crowns, this piece acquired a particularly
spicy palette of tones, with phoenix orange and pomegranate
gripping the legends and parts of Victoria's effigy. The reverse
faces up particularly fine, laden with frost that augments the
presence of the quartered arms against more pondlike peripheries.
