William I the Conqueror (1066-87) Penny c.1083-86 VF35 NGC, Winchester Mint, Siword as moneyer, PAXS type, S-1257, North-848. + PILLELM REX, crowned and diademed bust facing, holding scepter to right / + SIPORD ON PINCE, cross pattée; letters PAXS contained within annulets in each quarter. Handsomely toned, albeit somewhat weakly struck.
