Enticing GSA 1879-CC Capped Die Dollar, MS62

1879-CC $1 Capped Die MS62 NGC. VAM-3. A Top 100 Variety. The so-called "Capped Die," with a medium mintmark over a small mintmark. This frosty piece displays a touch of silver-gray toning and pleasing detail, though the surfaces show a number of abrasions. The GSA population of 1879-CC dollars of all varieties was a tiny fraction of the original mintage, which only enhances the distinctiveness of the present piece. Band-certified in the original holder with accompanying outer packaging.(Registry values: P7, N1793)
