Description

Desirable 1879-CC GSA Dollar

1879-CC $1 GSA Dollar. Unc Details, Obverse Cleaned. Normal Mintmark. This coin is still in the original and unperturbed GSA holder, which means that the minor cleaning must have occurred at the Treasury. Most likely one of the workers at the time of the GSA release wiped the obverse and then put the coin in a holder. Nonetheless, the details are sharply defined and there is outstanding semiprooflike reflectivity throughout the majority of the obverse and all of the reverse. A touch of golden toning near the rims accents the mostly silver-gray surfaces. Scattered marks on the obverse are typical for the issue. A nice example of one of the scarcer Carson City Morgan dollars.
