Description

Desirable 1879-CC GSA Dollar, Brilliant Uncirculated

1879-CC $1 MS62 Uncertified. While some CC-mint Morgan Dollars, like the 1884-CC and 1883-CC, existed in great quantity in the GSA holdings, only .55% of the original mintage (756,000 pieces) of the 1879-CC was disbursed through that government agency. This amounted to a mere 4,123 coins, among which is this obviously important BU representative. Neither side is toned, and the richly frosted devices are set atop moderately glowing fields. Both sides are well struck with a typical number of abrasions and luster grazes for the MS62 level. The original box in included, but the cover is just barely attached to the base. The certificate is also present, and it is numbered 79003248.
