Impressive MS63 1879-CC Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS63 NGC. An impressive example that remains in its black plastic holder as distributed through the General Services Administration in the 1970s, and now band certified by NGC. This brilliant and fully lustrous Mint State example has frosty silver surfaces with slight reflectivity in the fields. Nearly 3 million Carson City silver dollars were distributed during the 1970s, including only about 4,000 of these 1879-CC dollars. Once coin certification began in the 1980s, many of the GSA dollars were cracked out for submission. That is essentially true of the scarce and rare dates such as this 1879-CC. Over many years we have only handled about 80 of these dollars in their GSA packaging, and many of those were the Capped Mintmark variety. Here is an extremely important opportunity.(Registry values: P7, N2998)
