Description

Elusive 1879-CC GSA Dollar

1879-CC $1 MS62 NGC. An essentially brilliant example of this rare Carson City Dollar. The strike is intricate, the luster is semi-prooflike, and the reverse is well preserved. A few small blemishes on the cheek limit the grade. Not as low mintage as the 1881-CC and 1885-CC issues, but much tougher in Mint State since comparatively few pieces emerged from the GSA hoard, most of which no longer reside in their original GSA holders. The box of issue accompanies the lot.(#7086) (Registry values: P7, N1793)
