Description

1793 C-2 Half Cent, Good 6
Affordable Example of the First Half Cent

1793 1/2 C C-2, B-2, R.3, Good 6 NGC. Chocolate-brown devices contrast with steel-blue fields. Porosity is microscopic on the reverse, though it is more prominent on the obverse, along with moderate abrasions. C-2 carries over the obverse die from C-1, where the reverse of this die marriage was subsequently used on C-3. This example provides an excellent opportunity for the type collector, or the general connoisseur of American history, to obtain an example of this historic first year of issue of the half cent.
