Description
1793 C-3 Half Cent, VF Details
Significant Detail Remaining
1793 1/2 C C-3, B-3, R.3 -- Excessive Corrosion -- PCGS Genuine.
VF Details. Reddish-copper surfaces contain splashes of sand
and steel-blue. Moderate porosity is uniform and all design
elements remain visible. Just 35,334 half cents were made in this
inaugural year of issue, and just over 1,000 survive today.
Considering this is a one year type, collecting pressure is even
higher, and the status of this issue as America's first half cent
further enhances the appeal. From The Austin Collection.
