Description

1793 C-3 Half Cent, Good 6
Affordable First Year of Issue

1793 1/2 C C-3, B-3, R.3, Good 6 PCGS. Chocolate-brown surfaces contain hints of steel-blue and rose-copper. Slight weakness exists in the central reverse. Dents at the cap and in front of the eye have been part of the coin's patina for a significant portion of its life. The C-3's reverse was previously used for C-2, and the obverse went on to strike C-4, the final of the four equally-scarce die marriages of this inaugural year of America's smallest coin denomination.
