Description

1793 C-3 Half Cent, Good 6
Attractive Example of the Inaugural Year

1793 1/2 C C-3, B-3, R.3, Good 6 PCGS. Chocolate-brown surfaces contain regions of steel-blue and red-steel. Microscopic porosity is present in the fields, though it is not distracting. America's first half cent consisted of four die marriages of equal rarity. The present example is the C-3, which combines a reverse die carried over from C-2 and with a new obverse that went on to coin C-4.
