Description

1793 C-4, B-4 Half Cent, VG8
Appealing First-Year Type

1793 1/2 C C-4, B-4, Low R.3, VG8 NGC. CAC. The small 7 in the date and the low L in LIBERTY identify the obverse die, while the reverse diagnostic is the beginning U and ending A in the legend being distant from the stems. This medium-brown Very Good example shows some darker patina around the device edges. LIBERTY and the date are clear on the obverse, and the well-detailed reverse shows all legends readable, although AMERICA is faint. One minor rim bump appears on the reverse. An appealing example of this first-year type. Our EAC grade Good 5.
