Description
1793 Liberty Cap Half Cent, VF35
Elusive C-1, B-1 Variety
1793 1/2 C VF35 PCGS. C-1, B-1, High R.3. Manley Die State
II. The 1793 Liberty Cap half cent claims a mintage of 35,344
pieces, with four die varieties known for the date. This coin
represents the C-1 variety, with a long 7 in the date and a period
after the legend on the reverse. The C-1 is the most elusive
variety of the date and is usually seen in lower circulated grades,
with HALF CENT illegible on the reverse. This Choice VF specimen retains some interior design detail in the leaves and shows some wear on the hair near the ear and forehead. The smooth planchet is problem-free and the pleasing brown surfaces show a few scattered grade-consistent abrasions. Our EAC grade VF20. Population: 1 in 35, 6 finer (1/15).
