    Description

    1793 B-3, C-3 Half Cent, XF45
    Exceptional Type Coin

1793 1/2 C XF45 PCGS. C-3, B-3, R.3. This variety is the second most common of the four known for this issue. Of course, no 1793 half cent can truly be considered common, as a mere 35,334 pieces were produced, and survivors are always in demand as the only coins extant of this one-year type. A choice coin for the grade with medium olive surfaces, there are no noticeable post-production impairments. The strike is well centered and sharp, and every feature retains ample definition despite light overall wear. The only mentionable surface blemishes, and we hesitate to call them blemishes because they are as struck, are a pair of bisecting laminations on the obverse that are most noticeable in the field before Liberty's portrait. A coin that would do justice to any high grade circulated type set. Our EAC grade VF30.
    Ex: New York Signature (Heritage, 7/2002), lot 5785.(Registry values: P8) (NGC ID# 2222, PCGS# 1000)
