Not Sold Description
1794 MS 60 Brown ANACS. B-9, C-9, R.2. Ex: Roger Cohen. Late die state with the crack through the tops of IBERTY and a heavy crack from the rim to the cap and hair. Additional die stress is evident above NITE, as seen on other examples of this die pairing. Very weakly struck in the centers, but the surfaces show moderate amounts of faint red color on each side. Myriad contact marks are generously sprinkled over both the obverse and reverse. An important and valuable early half cent, and undoubtedly a condition census coin. Ex: Roger Cohen Collection (Superior, 2/92), lot 38; purchased by Cohen from Jim McGuigan at the 1986 ANA in Milwaukee.
