Description
1794 C-9, B-9 Half Cent, XF45
High Relief Head
1794 1/2 C High Relief Head, C-9, B-9, R.2, XF45 PCGS. CAC.
Manley Die State 1.0. Fuhrman Die State 1. The die crack through
the tops of LIBERTY is extremely faint, and there is no evidence of
the crack from the obverse border to the cap. This is an important
and rare early die state. Minor handling marks are evident on both
sides of this piece that exhibits tan, mahogany, and steel-brown
toning on both sides. There are a number of small surface marks
that remain from the planchet before this piece was struck. This is
an excellent example for the type collector or the advanced variety
specialist.Ex: Larry H. Miller Collection (Stack's Bowers, 12/2020), lot 1003; Early Cents Auctions; Bruce Gimelson.
