Description
Sharply Detailed 1794 C-9 Half Cent
1794 1/2 C --Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AU Details. C-9, B-9, R.2. This is the High Relief head style used for Cohen-7, 8, and 9. This head style is entirely unlike any other 1794 half cent variety, and it is considered by some to be a separate design for type collectors. The surfaces are faintly rough with deep steel and chocolate color, although there are no appreciable signs of actual wear. A few tiny marks are visible on the highest point of the hear left of Liberty's ear. Although considered the most common variety of 1794, higher grade examples infrequently cross the auction block.
