Description

1794 C-3a, B-5b Half Cent, Fine 15
Small Edge Letters

1794 1/2 C Normal Head, Small Edge Letters, C-3a, B-5b, R.5, Fine 15 NGC. Manley Die State 2.0 with a light die bulge right of the date. A small rim nick over the L in LIBERTY will identify this important half cent that otherwise exhibits outstanding steel-brown surfaces. This modest example is finer than most that are known. The January 2025 issue of Penny-Wise, distributed to members of Early American Coppers, features a remarkable presentation of edge photographs for the various lettered edge half cents struck in 1793, 1794, 1795, and 1797, courtesy of Jon Lusk.
