Description

Wonderful 1794 Half Cent, B-9, C-9, XF40

1794 1/2 C XF40 NGC. B-9, C-9, R.2. Small edge lettering. The Cohen-7, 8, and 9 varieties are peculiar in that the head is struck in noticeably high relief, which is apparent even on worn specimens. The reverse is identified by the T in CENT, which leans left, and by the "heavy" (tightly spaced) wreath. Wonderful light brown patina endows the surfaces of this lovely representative. Myriad abrasions cover both sides, but none merit specific mention. The high points are soft, as often seen, but the details are fully outlined. An attractive example of this interesting variety. EAC 20.
