1795 Lettered Edge Half Cent
Late State C-2a, B-2a, AU58
1795 1/2 C Lettered Edge, Punctuated Date, C-2a, B-2a, R.3, AU58
PCGS. Manley Die State 3.0, the latest die state recorded in
that reference. This variety is the last of the 1795 Lettered Edge
half cents, and the late die state represents one of the latest
pieces struck before the lowered weight standard that took effect
just before the 1796 new year.This piece is sharply struck with light olive and chocolate-brown surfaces that exhibit pale blue overtones. The surfaces exhibit mostly microscopic marks and lines that are especially evident on the obverse. Our EAC grade VF25.
