1795 C-2a Half Cent, VF35
Lettered Edge, Punctuated Date
1795 1/2 C Lettered Edge, Punctuated Date, C-2a, B-2a, R.3, VF35
PCGS. CAC. This important transitional variety features the
Punctuated Date obverse with a lettered edge. Later examples from
the same die pair struck thin planchet pieces with a plain edge. A
nicely centered example, this half cent features attractively
blended steel, chestnut, and cinnamon-brown surfaces. Scattered
inconsequential surface marks are consistent with the grade.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2224, Variety PCGS# 35070, Base PCGS# 1015, Greysheet# 80855)
