Plain Edge, Thin Planchet, C-6a
1795 1/2 C Plain Edge AU55 PCGS. C-6a, B-6a, R.2. The
absence of the weight on the PCGS holder means that the identity of
this piece as C-6a is presumed, although C-6b is a remote
possibility. There is no sign of a Talbot, Allum & Lee undertype.
An unabraded chocolate-brown example that has a sharp strike and
excellent eye appeal. Struck a few degrees off center toward 9:30,
affecting only the width of the denticles. EAC 45.(Registry values: P6)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2225, PCGS# 1018, Greysheet# 441)
