Description
1795 1/2 C Plain Edge, No Pole, Thick Planchet, C-5b, B-5b, R.4, VF30 PCGS Secure. Though this Liberty Cap half cent cannot be weighed due to its encapsulation, the diameter of 24 mm, the lightly defined date, and visual inspection of the edge suggest the thick planchet subvariety. As seen on all examples, a heavy diagonal break on the upper central reverse weakens HALF CENT. The tan-brown surfaces are unmarked and minutely granular.
