Description
1795 C-6a Half Cent, Choice XF
No Pole, Thin Planchet, Plain Edge
1795 1/2 C Plain Edge, No Pole, Thin Planchet, C-6a, B-6c, R.2,
XF45 PCGS. Manley Die State 2.0. Likely struck over a cut-down
Talbot, Allum & Lee store card, with traces of a probable undertype
on the upper right obverse field. This is a well-defined No Pole
half cent. A supermajority of dentils are bold, since only those
between 1 and 4 o'clock on the reverse are worn. Mahogany-brown
resides in design recesses, while the high points and open fields
are gunmetal-gray. A small dark spot on the base of the neck, along
with two minor aqua spots on the lower portion of the wreath and a
shallow textured strike-through on the field below the Y in
LIBERTY. Our EAC grade VF30.From The Maurice Storck Collection.
