Description
1796 C-2, B-2 Half Cent
With Pole Obverse
1796 1/2 C With Pole Genuine PCGS. C-2, B-2, High R.4. The
PCGS number ending in .97 suggests Environmental Damage as the
reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin
not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a Fine
specimen that is corroded.Probably once buried, this dark brown example has noticeable surface roughness resulting in considerable indistinct details. However, with the exception of HALF, all of the lettering is visible and the design motifs are outlined, showing some hair detail on the obverse. The date is bold and sharp. Our EAC grade Good 4.
