1797 C-1 Half Cent, AU53
1 Above 1, Late Die State
1797 1/2 C 1 Above 1, C-1, B-1, R.2, AU53 PCGS. Manley Die
State 4.0 to 5.0. A late die state with a swollen right obverse
field, which in turn causes an indistinct impression on the ICA in
AMERICA. The obverse die was nearly shattered from cracks. This
deep brown representative is refreshingly unabraded, and the major
motifs are nicely struck. The surfaces are microgranular below
Liberty's cap. Our EAC grade VF20.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2228, Variety PCGS# 35101, Base PCGS# 1042, Greysheet# 80865)
