Late Die State C-1, B-1
1797 1/2 C 1 Above 1, C-1, B-1, R.2, XF45 NGC. The misplaced
1 is positioned above the final 1 in the date and is diagnostic for
the C-1, B-1 die pair. Manley Die State 5.0. The RTY in LIBERTY and
the ICA in AMERICA are missing as a result of the severe die
failure that is evident at the upper-right obverse and lower-right
reverse on this late die state example. Rich mahogany-brown
surfaces are smooth and attractive. Our EAC grade VF25.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2228, Variety PCGS# 35101, Base PCGS# 1042, Greysheet# 80865)
