Description
1797 1/2 C Plain Edge VG 10 Corroded. B-3c, C-3a, R.3. A pleasing example of the popular "Low Head" variety, dark brown in color and with somewhat lighter tan devices. The surfaces are mildly corroded, and there are several small pinscratches on the obverse. While not a choice example, the piece is well centered and has some eye appeal. It was struck on a planchet cut down from a spoiled large cent, as the denticles and the letters AMER from the large cent are visible on the reverse.
