Description

1797 Half Cent, C-2, Plain Edge, VF25
Smooth, Problem-Free Surfaces

1797 1/2 C Plain Edge, C-2, B-2, R.3, VF25 PCGS. The reverse die crack from the 2 in the fraction to the dentils above the I in UNITED is weak, but visible. The ICA of AMERICA is characteristically soft, though the borders are otherwise strong. Smooth, auburn-brown surfaces deliver a high degree of eye appeal for the grade, as no signs of environmental impairment are observed on either side. The portrait is well-defined and an old dig on the pole in front of the neck is the only mark of note. Our EAC grade Fine 12. Population: 17 in 25, 43 finer (7/14).
