Description

1797 1/2 C Plain Edge VF25 NGC. C-1, B-1, R.2. Manley Die State 3.0. This interesting variety is easily identified by the second 1 that is punched directly above the 1 in the date due to an engraver's miscalculations. Smooth tan-brown fields show lovely contrast against the slightly deeper chocolate-brown devices. HALF is a little weak, but the rest of the legends are sharp, as are most of the denticles. A charming piece with no bothersome marks or blemishes. EAC 12.
