Description

1800 C-1, B-1 Half Cent, MS61 Red and Brown
Scarce First-Year Draped Bust Issue

1800 1/2 C C-1, B-1, R.1, MS61 Red and Brown PCGS. The only half cent variety for 1800, this example shows generous amounts of mint red luster on both sides merging into blue overtones at the right obverse. The finely granular surfaces show tiny bumps, lumps, and small nicks but all require a lens for viewing. Slight weakness at the dentils and at OF as well as at the lowest obverse curl are noted, but the definition on the motifs is otherwise strong and attractive. Our EAC grade XF45.
